This is the first International Friendship Veterans Fencing Tournament to be held in the Caribbean, and the Organizing Committee is dedicated to make this one of the most attractive annual events in the world of veteran fencing. With the support from the Pan American and the Central American & Caribbean Fencing Confederations, we are sure that this will open a new interesting circuit for veteran fencers in this part of the world.
Although the tournament is an open tournament, we already have commitments from the North American (US / Canada), European and Australian Veterans Committees that world class veteran fencers will come to Curacao to show their skills, their elegance and their speed supported by their respective fencing organizations.
The 2008 event will attract around 200 competitors from five continents.
There are 3 weapons: Foil, Epée and Sabre. Each is contested by men and women. Fencing will take place in the Exhibition Hall of the World Trade Center in Curacao, the largest exhibition hall in the Caribbean.
Social events will not only concentrate in the World Heritage City of Willemstad but also on the unique natural surroundings of the island of Curacao (beaches, parks, neighborhoods).
